We have worked diligently with the Huntsville Police Department, the First United Methodist Church and the Central Church of Christ to facilitate parking for the High Holy Days. It will require patience and understanding on everyone's part. Below you will find the outline for parking availability. Please read this carefully; your cooperation will go a long way in making our holidays run smoothly.

There are TWO CHANGES from previous years. FIRST, The Church of Christ has requested that vehicles NOT be parked in the row their vans are parked (see map). SECOND, the First United Methodist Church has graciously agreed to allow us to use their lot on Clinton Street closest to the Temple to take the place of city parking which was removed by the construction of the new city parking garage (see map). THE CHURCH HAS REQUESTED THAT WE NOT USE THEIR OTHER LOT ON CLINTON AS IT IS NEEDED FOR THEIR OWN PARKING.

General Parking Information

The additional parking information is as follows:

  • Parking placards are available for street parking in the Temple Times and Weekly Newsletter for you to cut out. Additional placards will be placed in the lobby of the Educational Building.
  • Non- metered and non-timed street parking is always available.
  • Parking is available for those congregants who display handicap parking placards.
  • There has been an increase in requests for Handicap Parking. Therefore, to accommodate all of these requests, all the parking spaces on the Temple property, with the exception of the Rabbi’s space, will be reserved for Handicap Parking for those who requested Handicap Parking. For those who requested Handicap Parking, please read carefully the section concerning Handicap Parking.

Important Note- If you are ticketed because you forgot your parking placard or have parked illegally the Temple is not responsible.

IMPORTANT HANDICAP PARKING INFORMATION

Please do not park in the Rabbi’s space on the side of the building.  Due to the extraordinarily large requests for Handicap Parking this year, additional Handicap Parking was required beyond the usual ones in front of the Temple. To accommodate all of the requests for Handicap Parking, Ken Shaneck has offered to valet park your vehicle.  However, in order for Ken not to miss any of the services, we are asking those that require Handicap parking to be at the Temple 45 minutes before the service. Also, your keys will be locked in the Temple office unless you return to Ken to retrieve your car keys. Thank you for your cooperation; it is greatly appreciated by the High Holiday Committee. Please keep your Handicap parking placard with you on the dashboard of your car.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation. We look forward to seeing all of you at services. If you have any questions, please contact Jerry Perlman at jperlman256@gmail.com.
